Do you wish you read the bible more, but have trouble staying focused? ![[include/struggling-to-read-my-bible-brief.png]] It's hard to overstate how many others feel the same. ![[include/i-have-trouble-reading-the-bible-and-staying-intrigued-brief.png]] Literally billions among the religious of the world are curious, but find it impossible. ![[include/reading-the-bible-is-such-a-burden-brief.png]] Most of the curious but non-religious seem to feel the same thing. ![[how-does-one-actually-read-the-bible-holy-books-are-boring-brief.png]] This may be the most universal experience on earth, at least of the ones that somehow involve a book. After all, no book in history has had a larger impact on the world. ![[include/why-is-it-so-hard-for-me-to-read-the-bible-brief.png]] No book in history has more translations in more languages. How is it possible that not a single one of them has solved this problem? Solutions are readily available for any textual problem or need, except for the ones that cause the most trouble, for the most readers, and prevent more people from connecting to the text or even engaging with it on their own terms. Never has such a near infinite supply of effort and energy and funding failed so completely to meet a demand of comparable size. So why do [[The Need|so many people]] desperately want to read the book, but can't? How can there be such a massive demand for something so important to so many people, but so few creative attempts to tackle the problem in a new way? We think we know why. The people and groups who know and love The Book enough to address The Need either can't or don't or won't. Just cuz of the basic way that we humans tend to work, the few who've devoted enough of their lives to The Book to be able to address The Need also tend to revere or fear or respect or believe in the book so much that addressing The Need is something they're qualified to do, but too \[something, some respectful thing\] to even try to achieve; and if they don't have \[that thing\] that much, like if instead they end up getting disenchanted with The Book along the way, then they typically also decide to do something else with their day, something like fishing or playing the trombone or writing some other kind of books, something that isn't focused on The Book and on addressing The Need. What if instead you had a friend with you through every single verse, one who knew and loved The Book enough to help you solve that problem of The Need, but who also somehow had just the right kind of brain damage to write the sort of thing that everyone else who knows The Book enough would never ever write, and who therefore unfortunately also can't address The Need. Just imagine, it's hypothetical, play along. That sort of friend, but somehow we could cram the person in a book. To point out all the things that the earliest readers of The Book back around 950 BC would have understood without needing the text to explain it to them, stuff that's known now among scholarly but stuck in scholarly type monographs of the sort that you don't have the time or energy or vocabulary to read. Just suppose someone who loves The Book could come along and read it with you, to help you hear The Book in ways its original authors likely meant, a friend with no agenda and no interest in changing any stuff that you believe, except for that one belief about how the Bible's hard to read. Anyways, to change the subject entirely, here's a book.[^1] There may or may not be something inside it you need. ## Genesis - [Paperback](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HNQ23QKT) - [Hardback](https://www.amazon.com/We-Nameless-Genesis/dp/B0HNTRXTLP) - [Kindle](https://www.amazon.com/We-Nameless-Genesis-ebook/dp/B0HNR3B4MB) ## Contact - [email protected] --- [^1]: P.S. Apologies for the price. Apparently making a book in full color isn't cheap. We're gonna go learn about industrial printing and distribution and try to figure out how to make this cheaper. Not sure how yet, but it's the bible. Some people somewhere may be willing to help out. If you know any, drop us a line. Sincerely.
